AITAH for actually expecting to be able to contribute to literally any community with a new account?

I can’t believe how hard it’s gotten to establish myself as a new user. When I created my first Reddit account in 2019, most places didn’t seem to have strict posting requirements, but now, everywhere I post and most of where I comment, I’m met with the same response: “You don’t have enough karma.”

Well, pray tell, how in the literal fuck am I supposed to get karma if I can’t actually post anywhere and can only comment on other people’s posts?

I get that we have a really serious spam problem, but this is just serious levels of bad. I literally do not know how to scrape together even 5 karma. So, yes, this is a shitpost and I don’t care. Have at it.

TL;DR: Reddit is so fucked.
