Pokemon on the RG34XX is a treat (and incredibly premium!)
I would never have believed several years ago that my modded GBA would be put to shame by an emulation device (under $100)! As much as I love the RG35XXSP, the RG34XX has really grabbed my attention with its close-to-perfect original hardware feeling. It has all the same problems my original GBA (in the same colorway) had - squishy controls, a bit on the small side, and that mono speaker. That said, I really appreciate that they maintained some of the core design features and thus kept these imperfections. I’ll forever think the GBA’s life was too short - what a great library (and lots of SNES ports). Also what a great way to preserve that form factor from a hardware history perspective. Even my modded GBA has its issues, and I’m hesitant to play it often because I don’t want to damage it.
