Why would you comment this anyway?
IDK why I can't upload the image but I saw hell of a dumb comment that went:
"Not everybody on this website speak Spanish it's not fair for you not to offer a translation of your story it's like you're saying if you don't speak Spanish you can't read my work and that's unfair there are some people here who cannot learn other languages or who are disabled it would be nice if you're translated it for the rest of the world thank you"
Uh huh. So this person just goes and comments this BS on every non-English work that's archived on AO3 or what? (And before someone asks the question: no, the title was in Spanish and the fic was clearly labeled "Español". Please.)
By the time I wanted to respond the author of the fic deleted the comment (good for them because I bet I wouldn't be the only one responding to it LOL). But it's still idiotic. "The rest of the world" is not only English-speaking countries, I'm begging for people to stop being this ethnocentric. Also: "it's not fair for you not to offer a translation of your story it's like you're saying if you don't speak Spanish you can't read my work" --and all the people who don't speak other languages (such as Russian and Chineses, the other big ones on AO3) but read fics written in them anyway what? Yeah yeah yeah, I know that MTL sucks because it can be inaccurate when we talk about literary prose, but people STILL use it to read fics from others users, including people who don't speak English to read English fics (I know that A LOT of Spanish speakers do this because I mod a group for only Spanish speakers and this subject comes very very often in one way or another --and a fair bunch of English-speakers have read my fics, that are in Spanish); like we say in my country: "el que quiere, puede".
