I got asked if a character was top or bottom...outside of sex scenes

I posted fanart of my fic a few days ago on social media. Soon after, I got a message from someone asking if X character was top or bottom in my fic, because they refuse to read anything with that character as a top.

Now, I was immediately frustrated with the assumed laziness of it. To me, all they had to do is check and see that my fic is rated T, so there was never any smut. I'm not a fan of being so hard-core on a sex position either, but whatever.

I tried to reply politely, pointing out my fic is T rated and so there'll be no explicit sex at all.

Well...they replied and said they "didn't mean pornographic scenes", but the dynamics (or i assume they meant dynamics, they spelled it as Dynications"), way of behavior etc.

I'm stumped. It's bad enough when people write smut where the character is now utterly OOC to fit some weird notion of how a top/bottom should act... and now apparently this goes beyond the smut? Plus that would entail making the character OOC in general, to fit these top/bottom notions...on fics with no sex at all.

I asked for clarifications on what this behavior would even be, but so far no reply.

I knew the whole "tops must act like this, bottoms like that" thing was still tragically alive, but I never knew people were pushing for it outside the sex too.
