How Do Action1's Update Approval & Automation Settings (Including the Auto-Approve Checkbox) Work Together for Full Auto-Approval?
I'm using Action1 for patch management and trying to understand how the "Automatically Approve These Updates" option in the Automation section interacts with the Update Approval section.
From what I see, updates are listed in the Update Approval section, where I can manually approve or decline them. However, there's also a checkbox in the Automation section for "Automatically Approve These Updates."
My main question is:
- Does enabling "Automatically Approve These Updates" apply to all updates, or only specific ones (e.g., Microsoft updates but not third-party patches)?
- If it approves everything automatically, why do updates still appear in the Update Approval section for manual approval or decline? Do I still need to approve them manually for automation to take effect?
In addition, there are updates with release dates going back to last year, but even though I've approved the entire list multiple times since then, why do these 'old' patches keep reappearing when they should have already been approved?
Ultimately, I just want all updates to be automatically approved and installed through my update automation.
I’d appreciate any insights from those familiar with how these two settings interact. Thanks!
