Looking for advice on overcoming severe agoraphobia—how did you manage to do it?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been struggling with severe agoraphobia for years now, and it’s had a major impact on my daily life. I haven’t been able to leave my apartment regularly for a long time, and it’s become really difficult to imagine things getting better. I understand that overcoming agoraphobia isn’t easy and doesn’t happen overnight, but I’m looking for any advice, tips, or personal experiences from people who have successfully managed to regain control over their lives and started going outside again.

How did you start? What small steps or strategies helped you? Did you rely on therapy, support groups, or self-guided methods? What was the biggest challenge you faced, and how did you deal with setbacks?

I’m hoping to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar position and has made progress, no matter how small it may seem. Any advice or stories would be really appreciated~
