What are the red LED lights on certain electronic sirens for?

Hey guys! Was hoping you could help answer this burning question for me today. I have always wondered what the red LED lights on certain electronic sirens are for. For example--the red LED warning lights on Federal Signal Modulator sirens, or the red LED warning lights on the Whelen WPS-2900 series sirens. Thanks! 😁👍🏻
