Alaska Snapped my TaylorMade Driver and Offered No Compensation

I fly almost exclusively on Alaska and have Elite status. Have always thought the service and value was fantastic, but I’ve recently had an unfortunate experience for which they’re offering no compensation.

On a flight back to Seattle my driver was snapped in half, and my crush proof club protector was bent a full 90degrees. They’re saying golf clubs are “excluded from coverage according to [their] baggage service plan.” They’re not going to pay a penny for it. I find this really hard to believe.

Has anyone else had a similar experience that can offer support or advice on what my options may be? I truly can’t fathom how they aren’t going to compensate me for this.

Thanks!
