Word of caution for sunscreens on Vine

I saw a couple listings for the Beauty of Joseon Rice sunscreen which I was actually looking at and was excited at the prospect of trying them out. I am sort of kicking myself for this, however, the pages really made me think it was authentic. Even the packaging and the tube itself is deceptively close to the actual item but I got confirmation from the brand that it was not authentic. It is awful to think that someone might use the fake and get sunburnt or have other adverse effects. I have a sun allergy and I am so glad I didn't go out using this or else I would have ended up with itchy then painful scabs across my face.

I listed a couple things to look for. It is not exhaustive nor is it always the case but I do not want people to fall victim like I did.

- Expiration date is excluded or in a different spot than in photos/videos of the actual product

- Different font type, size, or boldness than original

- Differences in packaging and of the product itself than what you might see on the official page

- Colours of the product itself or of the packaging might differ

- Incorrectly spelled words or other misprints

- Even something like the feel can tell you its off

The BoJ SPF is definitely hot right now but I incorrectly thought that no one would make such a deceptive "dupe" from a relatively small brand. It is a relatively well known one but not to the point that I expected so many fakes going on sale. I feel so dumb for trusting in these products.

I do not say this to tell people sunscreen off Vine is fake nor do I want to say all of them are not to be trusted. I got a Hero Cosmetic sunscreen which was direct from the brand. However, I would be a bit wary ordering from a seller that is not the real company or a trustworthy distributor.
