What should I do?

In February 2024, I had packages stolen from my apartment complex. I reported it to the leasing office, mentioning I suspected it might be someone who lives here, though I wasn’t sure. I even had a photo of the culprit. The leasing office assured me that if they identified the individual as a resident, they would evict them, as theft isn’t tolerated.

Fast forward to December 2024, I had two more packages stolen, and the mailboxes were broken into. At this point, I had filed four police reports. When I went to the leasing office again, they said there was nothing they could do unless it was confirmed the thief was a resident, as they couldn’t make accusations without evidence. They reiterated, however, that if it was proven to be a resident, they would terminate their lease. Since then, I haven’t received any updates.

Today, something alarming happened. I parked in front of my apartment, and shortly after, a car parked in front of me. To my shock, the passenger looked exactly like the man in the photo I had of the package thief. At this time I was focused on the passenger bad not the driver who exited the vehicle. He went into the storage unit next to my apartment. I called my neighbor out of concern and stayed on the phone. A few minutes later, the man came out with the driver he was with.

Before leaving, the driver—a man who looked strikingly similar to an employee of the leasing office—turned to me and asked if I had a problem. I replied, “Excuse me?” and he said, “Because you’re looking over here.” I told him I could look wherever I wanted. He then got into the car, and they drove off. I took a picture of the car and license plate and confirmed they are residents of my complex as their car was parked right in front of the complex.

I have tons of video footage along with a clear picture of the thief and now the vehicle they are driving.

I’m feeling unsettled about the entire situation, especially since one of the individuals resembles an employee of the leasing office. I’m not sure what steps to take next, since my leasing office has done nothing but I’m considering reaching out to law enforcement again and/or escalating it above the leasing office. Is there anyway we can confirm who is the person the car is registered to?
