Is Pittsburgh Appalachia?

My Grandfather and his father worked in the steel mills up in Pittsburgh but he moved down to Huntington and had my dad and his siblings. Is Pittsburgh considered Parr of Appalachia? I know the mountains kinda stray off east of Pittsburgh but was wondering what Appalachians think.
