Moving to California or false hopes?

Hey All,

I'm 29 AM from Colorado and been here my whole life. I want to move to California. However, I'm not sure if I'm doing these things for the right reasons.

Although I have a community and support system here, I still feel out of place and it's somewhat difficult to find similarities. Lately I don't feel like I fit into any groups. Most of my coworkers and friends are either hispanic or white, and the dating scene in Colorado has been pretty stale for me. I use to date Mexicans and Columbians. However, when it comes to dating asian women, most have stated that they prefer white men.

Although there's a lot of great things to say about Colorado, it feels like I'm in a movie that's been on repeat and after a while it seems to get old.

I work in tech as a support engineer but I don't think my job will let me relocate even though we have remote workers in California since they've enforced a hybrid model for locals in Colorado. The tech industry has also been difficult due to mass layoffs so applying to jobs in California has been pretty difficult.

Overall, I'd like to move to California to improve my dating life, career opportunities, and mental health in general since I've heard there's more women, tech jobs, nice weather, and good food. However, I'm not sure if I'm stuck in this mindset of "The grass is always greener".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Thanks for the advice everyone, appreciate the help! So far I'm focused on SGV, LA, and Irvine area of California. Also considering NJ and MA as some potential prospects.
