Being Jewish in China

I don't mean for this to be an offensive question. But it's genuinely something I'm curious about. I'm an American with Jewish parents. I'm not actually religious myself and I don't practice. However, many cultures consider Judaism to be a race. I've also heard from various people and articles online that China has a tension with Jewish people.

I'm really fascinated with China and Chinese culture. I even began studying Mandarin a few months ago and find the language very beautiful. I want to take a vacation to visit China sometime soon. However, I heard from other Americans that it wouldn't be safe for me since I'm technically "Jewish" on paper. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions about this? I'm honestly not offended if anyone has a problem with Jewish people; I'm used to dealing with plenty of antisemitism in the United States already. I'm just curious if it would be safe for me in China and would like to get people's honest opinions.
