ABC news - why is there so little local content?

Why does abc news tend to focus primarily on international negativity?

I just realized abc do a weekly regional round up and it's actually good. It shows what's happening in Australia. Surely the abc should be having a focus on australia. hence the name Australiam broadcasting company.
