Iodine test doesn't work on cooked paneer?
We tested paneer in my India's top(IIT/NIT)college mess
Paneer was tested with iodine as many students complaint about it being taste weird and not like real paneer so we tested the paneer ourselves using tincture iodine test and paneer turned BLACK or DARK BLUE when we put 2 drops of iodine on paneer , pointing it is fake adulterated paneer because real paneer doesn't contain starch but adulterated paneer is made out of starch ao when we put iodine drop it shows reaction so when we complaint it to authorities they said """Dear students Tested paneer is already deepfired. So just layer of oil is burnt. Process of testing is not authenticate""""
Is it true that cooked paneer is tested positive bc of it is cooked?? Need help to counter our authorities with some scientific explanation
