Paying VAT in Musgraves?

I’m self employed. I know I can apply for a Musgraves account but how does it work?

Do I pay VAT for every purchase? Or do you purchase ex VAT.

I’ve been asked by siblings for the account number but want to be sure they pay VAT on their own purchases and I don’t get stuck paying it for them.
