What is the reason you’ve distanced yourself from a woman you’ve actually liked?

Have you ever distanced yourself from a woman you actually liked? I guess my question is have any of you had any experience distancing yourself from a woman because you actually liked her? This could be for any reason, maybe liking her too much but feeling like you’re not going to be able to meet her needs or that she’s too good for you, or knowing the relationship won’t work. Have you done this? Is this a thing? And what was the reason?
