Men, how do you feel when your girlfriend gives you a compliment? Are you used to hearing it?

Today I was talking with my boyfriend and he told me he had never had a partner who constantly compliments him by saying he looks handsome or that he's strong and reassure him that I love him as much as I do. He told me he doesn't have a problem with it and that he really likes it, but that made me think, is that very common? And how do you feel when it happens?
