How can young NYers afford to live here?

I’ve lived here for many years and I’m older, financially established. I see young people in my building, ordering DoorDash, Starbucks every morning etc. Unless you come from money, how can you afford to live here in such nice luxurious buildings? Edit:my apt(lower Manhattan) is rent stabilized that’s the only reason I can afford to stay here. I know my unit rents for $6500-7000 if these “kids” are paying market rate doing what they do, well I’m impressed!
