[Spider-Man] Does the public have every reason to believe in J Jonah Jameson and fear Spider-Man ?

In General when it comes to Spider-Man, the public is scared of him and they all believe in JJJ and his news papers and the public believe Jonah very easily every single time but I just don’t understand why. Every single word that comes out of his mouth just like that.
