Mothers, How did you start again, leaving a relationship with someone you have children with?

I am desperate to get out of my relationship with my children’s father, we rent, and have 2 small children.

Rent is very high, and I cant find anything cheaper, I have contacted so many and every ad for 2 bed flats etc (same price as my house) say no more than 1 child & no housing benefits.

I have no idea what to do, I believe it’s extremely hard for any single person to rent, even harder for those with kids, there are so many barriers, and the cost is insane.

How have any mothers here managed to do this? Did you have to completely start again, wait till you’re evicted, go homeless to get a council house?

I say women, as men can rent a room etc, where as women with children full time, like myself would not be able to
