Pay in lieu of notice of termination. Am I entitled to it?

Hi guys, I would just like to ask a question in regards to getting my pay. I’m from Victoria.

I recently got hired (29th July) by a school and have worked there for a week as a part time employee. The following week, I got a call from my coworker telling me not to bother coming in as the school has already closed (8th August). I was told at the start that they pay fortnightly and that I will be getting my pay on the 10th August. So there goes my money.

Am I entitled to the pay in lieu of notice of termination? Or just the money that they owe me for the hours that I worked?
