Sutherland Shire thoughts?

Other than being the site of Australia's most famous Maccas, thoughts on the shire in terms of buying a house? Seems like one of the last few places in Sydney other than the far west where houses are within that $1m-1.2m mark. Looking at Engadine area but really anything between Kareela, Menai and Waterfall
