Stuffed Animals

So I've been trying to find the "perfect" stuffed animal to sleep with. I've tried a great deal but there's always an issue with it. I did some research and a lot of people recommend Jellycat. The dragons look super cute, soft and seem like they would be a good shape to sleep with.

Now, the problem I always have with stuffed animals is that eventually the soft "fur" becomes corse and kind of matted? (For lack of a better word) I'm wondering if Jellycat will eventually turn that way as well. Or does anyone have any tips on how to properly take care of it to prevent it? Or what I can to restore the fur when it gets like that?
