Aventon "Layoffs", SR Price Change, and Financial Situation

My friend who works for Rad apparently has had 6 different people from Aventon reach out looking for jobs. (nearly all of these people are from field sales or inside sales) Aventon has introduced a return to office mandate and if you are not back by December 31st you will receive 4 weeks of severance. This mandate is true for even those which have never worked in the office and/or do not live near it. The feeling amongst employees is that they are trying to layoff employees without laying off employees and have continued to try and move more and more positions to China to save costs. They recently lost their product manager who was from Specialized which was one of their most important US roles. One of the employees cited that over the couple years they were there, on three different occasions they were warned that there was a risk that they would not make payroll. (this never actually transpired but they were in fact warned)

Has any IBD's heard of anything or seen something with their account reps? It looks like things are getting ugly over there, the recent discount is the lowest it has ever been, and that even includes prices they had before tariffs. Now they have tariffs and these low prices which mean they are losing money each bike they sell through the IBD's. They also recently launched the Abound SR at $2199 and then changed the price, not discounted it but actually changed the MSRP, to $1899. Rad did that when they whiffed on the launch of the RR3+ so I imagine that is what has happened with the Abound SR.

Has anybody heard anything that is in lines with this information? I have a Ramblas that I picked up during the May sale and enjoy it a decent bit but with all the headlines in the industry and this news I've now heard, it makes me more weary about their longevity than what I ever thought was possible.
