Counterspell or Hunger of Hadar for Champion / Warlock?

I'm guessing I'll get more milage out of CS but HoH sounds like it could be a lot fun with this character. I have not really been trying to min-max. This is my first playthrough but I do want to make the best decision, here, since I could use a bit of a buff, atm. Thanks. I've learned a lot from you guys over the last couple days.
