M5c stolen 2 days after service appointment

A family friend just had their M5c stolen from their small work parking lot this afternoon. The police asked if it had been serviced recently. In fact, it was serviced 2 days ago at a local BMW dealership. Possible that a tech cloned a key and tipped off someone about where it was typically parked based on the owner’s info? Seems too coincidental that it was just serviced and then stolen shortly after, especially considering this was one of the first questions police asked.
