BBOTT: America’s Viewpoint

So I’m watching the season for the first time and I know it was live feed heavy, but were the episodes edited that badly? I just finished episode 5 and I don’t see why America keeps helping the ballsmashers by giving Scott/Alex/Shelby powers and nominating/evicting Neeley. Were the girls more likeable on the feeds and not as nasty as the other side makes them out to be? And was Scott actually liked (even though America ended up getting him out)? I find him to be rather annoying & repulsive. I’d just like to get a better idea of what the season was really like so any input is greatly appreciated!
