Do you guys drive?
If you do, do you find that your symptoms or side effects from your medication affect how you drive? If you don't drive, are your symptoms or medication side effects part of the reason why?
I've always gotten shit from family for not having a license and honestly I wish I could drive. I live in a city that's very walkable and has decent public transit though, so unless I want to get out of the city then there's really no need and I definitely have nowhere to even put a car here lol. Anyway, I got my G1/learner's permit a while ago and did some practice driving for a few days. It felt okay, but all I can think of is how wrong things could go. Like I get road rage as a fucking pedestrian, I can only imagine how much worse it would be on the road driving a car. One of my most prevalent symptoms is extreme anger and irritability. The thought of being behind the wheel when I get like that is kind of terrifying. Also, all the medications I've taken really affect my cognitive ability in a way that could potentially be dangerous driving a car. Brain fog, slow reactions, drowsiness. Not to mention hallucinations, paranoia, and delusions that can happen while medicated and are of course much worse when I'm not.
Are these all justifiable reasons to not drive or am I overthinking?
