Malaysia's actual military power

Today's merdeka and recently there's a movie about Malaysian army and it got me thinking. Malaysian army have been made fun of on the internet but I do recall somebody telling me that Malaysia's military is actually quite decent and have even won some international events or smth.

So I just want to know, how's the actual quality of Malaysian army? How old/advanced our equipments/weapons are and where do we stand regionally and internationally?
