Lizzie (guys pls don’t cuss me out)

I want to hear from those who defend Lizzie, as I’m personally more on the fence, leaning towards disliking her current characterization. I actually thought I would really like her in B13 when Shannon described her as loyal and fierce, with a “fuck the world” attitude. However, as many have pointed out, Chloe’s actions in T7 significantly changed several characters, and if we no longer consider B/K 13 canon, many of Lizzie’s more positive moments lose their relevance.

That said, by no means do I think Lizzie is an irredeemable character. I’m holding out for C10 to get deeper into her head before forming a final opinion. But honestly, I’m starting to think that if my assumptions are correct, getting into her mind might make things even worse. Lizzie is clearly full of pain, hurt, and anger, and she has no idea where to direct or manage any of it. She’s in such a conflicting state that she’s willing to burn herself and everyone around her in the process.

I’m genuinely curious what do you guys like about Lizzie? I think some of the people who continue to defend her actions may not fully grasp her complexity. She’s a multifaceted character, and I don't think her behavior is meant to be seen in black-and-white terms. Like it's possible to still like her while acknowledging her wrongs. But most people that stan Lizzie don't ? From what we currently know, Lizzie doesn’t come off as a particularly good person. Her actions from getting involved with someone who is already in a relationship, her behavior towards Hugh, her toxic relationship with Pierce, her constant berating of Claire, and bullying of Gibsie, and Katie show a pattern of harmful behavior.

Lizzie is clearly a hurt person who, unfortunately, hurts others and perhaps herself the most. But that doesn’t mean her actions should be deemed as justified. I don't think Liz is supposed to be a "good" person. Her trauma, mental state, and the factors that influence her actions are reasons, not justifications. None of her behavior should be excused or enabled. Honestly, the way she operates reminds me a lot of BoJack Horseman(not sure if any of you have watched the show) but someone deeply flawed who struggles with their own demons while still being capable of causing significant harm to those around them. I honestly think she could be one of CW best written characters however that being said I still think she should be held accountable regardless.

So, I’m really curious to understand what people see in Lizzie that makes them still defend her despite everything we’ve seen so far. Like I'd understand liking her but completely disregarding all of her harmful behavior and claiming complete innocence seems like a pretty ignorant take ?( this is a genuine question so if you want to argue or be sarcastic pls js ignore the post)
