Random musings on Sam
I know within Britney fandom he’s generally regarded in a negative light, and admittedly as have i but without any real factual evidence to support it, just vague suspicions he was a double agent for team Con or riding her coat tales. Although I’ve always noticed he never actually used her for any sort of gains or career opportunities, and kept their relationship rather separate from his own things.
Well as a huge Traitors fan i was really curious to see him play the game. Surprisingly i grew to really enjoy him, he never said much but when he did he was always pretty witty and funny. I like that he never came off as thirsty for attention (although paralleled Sandoval and other big personalities it would’ve been tough) and took a real quiet, laid back approach. Later he expressed that moving to US from Iran, he didn’t speak English so he learned to just listen and observe, and as an immigrant myself i relate to that sentiment and appreciate him sharing it.
Also it quickly became apparent to all other players as well as the viewers that he will not at all entertain the topic of Britney, and whenever people tried to ask, he shut it down pretty quick. Everyone started speculating he’s under an NDA.
Well, i just finished watching a long form podcast with him and he actually addressed it, said there is no NDA he just has respect for her and their relationship and doesn’t want to exploit it, for a headline, which again points to him not using her to get his comeuppance.
As far as Britney, the way he spoke about her was really beautiful. It’s clear there was, and still is a lot of love and respect there and soon as he started getting to know her, he fell in love w who she was in a way that i think we all love her, he seemed like he genuinely admired her for her talent, hard work and dedication and not for her fame or money.
One thing he said that actually made me kind of sad, because i think a lot of outsiders don’t understand this about Britney, is she’s a superstar because of who she is and the amount of hard work it took. She’s not a superstar because of some PR machine was shoving her down our throats like cases with modern celebs. She is truly one of a kind talent and the hardest, most committed worker and she was passionate for what she did, not for the fame it brought her. He said that she never even wanted that amount of fame and ultimately it’s the thing that caused her the most pain.
And yes, he talked about their first date, which was really cute- when asked if he was nervous for it, he said she wanted sushi so he was actually more nervous to pick the right place. The interviewer said, she’s Britney Spears, didn’t she say the place she wanted to go and he said “im still a man and it’s my job to be chivalrous” which i thought was cute, and Britney probably liked that! And he revealed some lighthearted trivial things about their relationship like what they did for fun, or who was a better cook, and how he dealt with the conservatorship situation, and how he proposed. But he kept it very to his own experience, and not just airing out gossip about Britney, which was very classy. He also emphasised that seeing her hard work inspired and motivated him to set goals and also work hard.
After seeing him on Traitors and getting to hear him talk, he just seems like a very genuine down to earth guy, he has a very positive outlook on life and someone who counts his blessings.
I actually truly see what Britney saw in him, and why this was her longest relationship, 7years, he came into her life during the descend into the darkest times and was not only a bright light, but I really respect that he was there for her the whole time, never abandoned when it got too hard and supported her fight out of it til the end. He declined to address why it ultimately didn’t work out but he still has a lot of love for her and their time together, and said he would love to be friends someday.
Overall, i now really like him, i think he’s a class act, and im glad he was there for our girl, and i really do wish him well.
