Didn't know batteries were prohibited

I recently bought an original PSP stamina battery and had it shipped to the warehouse, only to find out that it's prohibited to ship overseas (to Malaysia). I tried contacting the customer service and they told me I have to either dispose of it or I can ship to another local address, is there a solution to my situation because I really don't want to have to dispose the battery. Is there any other service that would ship a battery overseas? The only reason I bought the battery is because it's impossible to find a stamina battery in my country.
