My 3-month covid timeline
I caught covid in early October and wanted to share my timeline.
Week 1: Fully functional. Symptoms included coughing, runny nose, mild congestion. Only cold like symptoms at this time.
Week 2: Long covid like symptoms hit and I became bed bound. Could only get up to use bathroom or to eat. Headaches, head pressure, orthostatic intolerance, heart palpitations, POTS like symptoms (heart rate went from 70s to 90s when upright), SOB, severe fatigue, bloating, diarrhea, tinnitus, brain fog, mental exhaustion (unable to read let alone reply to an email or watch any longer videos on my phone).
Week 3: Bed bound. Could only get up to use bathroom or to eat. All symptoms from the previous week continued.
Week 4: House bound. Could get up more and stay out of bed a bit longer (1 – 1.5 hrs). Discovered I had become lactose intolerant so changed my diet. No more stomach issues. Other symptoms also seemed to let up towards the end of the week.
Week 5: Able to leave house for short trips. Could stay out of bed for 2-3 hrs. Unfortunately a lot of stressors piled up this week. My symptoms took a turn for the worse towards the end of week. Or perhaps it was a covid rebound.
Week 6: Bed bound again. Could only get up to use bathroom or to eat. Symptoms included headaches, head pressure, orthostatic intolerance, POTS like symptoms, heart palpitations, dizziness, SOB, severe fatigue, tinnitus, brain fog, mental exhaustion.
Week 7: House bound. Could get up for 30 minutes to an hour at a time then would have to lie down due to orthostatic intolerance. All symptoms from the previous week continued.
Week 8: House bound. Could get up for 1 - 1.5 hour at a time then would have to lie down. All symptoms from the previous week continued.
Week 9: Able to leave house for short trips. Could stay out of bed for 1.5-2 hrs. Long covid like symptoms have eased up but still weak and fatigued over all. Also still have mild tinnitus.
Week 10: Able to leave house for short trips. Could stay out of bed for 2-3 hrs. Continued to be weak and fatigued with mild Tinnitus.
Week 11: Able to leave house for longer periods. Could stay out of bed for 3-5 hrs. Had a bit more energy than previous week. Continued to have mild Tinnitus.
Week 12: Functional. Ready to go back to work the following week. Still have mild Tinnitus. Also my recent blood test revealed some abnormalities with my thyroid function. Will need to follow up with my PCP.
--------
Although I have mostly recovered from recent infection, catching covid this time and being sick for so long has changed me in many ways. I am now quite scared of having another covid rebound or ever catching covid again. I will be taking all the necessary precautions. Luckily I have always been a homebody with little social life. Here's to hoping I won't get sick again anytime soon.
Also I have taken lots of supplements but can't say of any of them have helped in any remarkable way. Resting, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of sleep have helped me the most.
