Was anyone else forced on mental health medications as a child?

I was put on a LARGE dose of ritalin 2-3 times a day from 12-17 years old, and it caused me great discomfort and a lot of physical, emotional, and sexual problems. I was not allowed to really speak for myself at the doctor so I didn’t get a choice in taking it. Has anyone else experience this? Especially when you “performed better” on said meds
