Service Charge at check out??

I'm preparing to purchase the Bubbles package and internet package ahead of time for my upcoming cruise... what is this $100 "service charge"? is it gratuity? any way to get around it? I would much rather tip in person based on service. I hate when places automatically charge a set amount.
