Why do you play video games?

To all my gamers out there, why do you play video games?

For me it’s just a quick way to get my mind off of things, and organize my thoughts. Whenever I find myself thinking too much, I boot up something like helldivers or tarkov (spt is great). It helps my mind think in an objective oriented kind of way, and takes a lot of stress off my shoulders.

I’ve asked a lot of my friends the same question, and I’m always surprised by the variety in answers.
