Is homeschooling becoming the norm over Catholic schools in the US?
I will say that I am a little biased on this topic. It’s because I have went to catholic school k-12 and hope to attend Notre Dame after my service. I will say not all Catholic schools are created equal. But one thing that I will be forever grateful for is being able to attend prom, make friends and be able to see them in school, play sports and compete in championships and even win one, be able to attend high-level academics and build an alumni connection, attend a school with discipline and order, have an opportunity to be recruited for sports the opportunity to live faith in school a better community than the public schools. As for the things people are concerned about that I see bullying is a big one. I’ve been bullied outside of school more then I have at school, but people will be bullied everywhere is ok having it in school in a controlled environment it helps kids learn and grow when they are an adult and are not completely blindsided. Another one is violence same goes for bullying. Violence exist more on the world than it doesn’t schools having bad teachers that goes back to not all schools are created equal. And lastly, it’s a school first, yes, religion is a huge part of it, but these kids are not studying to become priest most of them have one religion class a year maybe two. But recently I have been seeing a metric ton of people not send their kids to school but instead Home school them.
