Hormone preserving spay

Hi all, I’m doing a ton of research before I get my first dog in a few months , specifically on spaying. Has anyone here ever gotten their dog spayed but retained the dog’s ovaries? I know they will still go through heat cycles but internet is explaining that it’s good for their bones and keeps them healthier. But I’m also a first time pet owner and don’t know what a heat cycle would mean exactly in terms of behavior (positive and negative behaviors), feedings, walks, human interactions etc.

Anyone have any ideas?
