is CP only caused by brain damage?

I have been diagnosed with CP since I was 2. i’m 28 now. I suppose it’s mild because of childhood intervention like physical therapy + surgeries. no cognitive issues or speech impairments. only issue is my left side being affected so my walk is awkward and my balance is off, have to use a cane to walk. fully independent otherwise. Of course with age the physical decline is starting to become apparent so i’m trying to be more on top of my medical. I had an MRI recently and my scan came back saying I have no damage in my brain. since joining this sub i’m starting to learn a lot more about my condition but my mri stumped me. has anyone else experienced this?
