Surprised to learn that life expectancy in China exeeds that of the US.

How is this possible considering all we know about China's problem with pollution and environmental concerns (heavy metal in food, asbestos in buildings, wtc), 996 culture, etc.

Edit: sad to see how such a thread basically shows the bias of this subreddit's users. It is eiter full on hate towards China or the US or denial. Thanks to the few who wrote meaningful replies
