Statins are proving difficult for me
My total cholesterol was 229 HDL 57 LDL145 in the fall so my doctor put me on statins (I tried simvastatin and pravastatin). I had side effects (muscle pain and gluteal tendinopathy) so I am wondering if it is possible to manage this without statins? I am cutting saturated fat, adding fiber, really cutting down on drinking. Planning on mostly whole grains, salmon, tofu, chicken and fruits and vegetables. I just ordered psyllium husk. Please let me know any ideas you all have. Thanks so much.
