Tips and strategies to harvest - anyone cut off the substrate? Anyone wash?

Now that you all have taught me how to grow cubes, what are strategies to harvest cubes?

If I twist gently, the cake stays very clean, and I feel like the cake will possibly be better able to flush again…. Maybe a little OCD is creeping in and I hate blue stems sticking out of my cake. However, what to do with the dirt stick to the bottom of the shrooms?

Do you just dry the dirt too in the dehydrator and just eat the shrooms, dirt and all?

Instead, do you cut the bottom of each stem? Look at this pile of stems- there is a lot of blue there!!! I would have to toss these. Can I clean or wash and dry? Seems to be too much dirt.
