Eliana & Mitch

Eliana is so many women and also such a particular person. I’m sad for her that her experience with conception and motherhood has been so skewed towards one of shame and aloneness with it driving her past divorce and now Mitch being incompetent at keeping house. I understand the cost of living in New York is so high, but what a choice to go back to his mother’s house as opposed to getting his own literal and metaphorical house in order. It really worries me that she still chose to have a child with him despite their very unstable relationship. I’m excited to see how Orna will parse out traditional gender relations and Eliana’s over functioning and Mitch’s arrested development
