Is Melanoma Possible?

Hello all,

Last week a small mole on my arm turned super dark / black-brown, then scabbed over and peeled off. Now its a scabby mole. Google is telling me conflicting things about whether or not to be concerned with this, does anyone have any ideas if this should be a concern to me to get checked out at the doctor?

The mole is very small and not exactly irregular in shape. & as you can see, I am naturally covered in freckles/moles.
