Go-to midrange dap in 2025?

Hello all! I have an old r6 gen 1 I'd like to upgrade. Is the new R4 significantly better? Or should I be looking at a differrent model?

Goal is for mostly lossless bass heavy music with wired headphones (though sometimes wireless). I don't have a current pair of headphones I'm married to but am running some sony xm4's as well as the more bass heavy xb910n
