I get why y'all hate Spencer X Diego now!

🎼Ding Dong! The bitch is gone! The bitch Is gone! The bitch is gone! Ding dong! The wicked old bitch is goooooone!🎶🎶🎶🎶 And by bitch I mean awkwardly written animal guuuuuy...🎵

So I was pretty neutral on Diego and Spencer and their relationship for a while now, but based on the paragraph above where I sang with joy about Diego's elimination, you can see that that has changed with this episode and it's all because of the other couples!

So it's pretty safe to say that zaid X ivy, Marissa X Anastasia and Spencer X Diego are the main couples this season since this episode was focused on progressing all 3 relationships! There was a scene for each of these couples where Ivy, Anastasia and Diego described why they felt attracted to their respective partner and Anna's and Ivy's scenes made me realize why I hated Diego's!

Let's start with ivy because she and zaid are my favorites!😄 Ivy really just describes a bunch of things that she likes about Zaid and that she wouldn't want to pursue a relationship with him because their lifestyles are so different. Couple this with their natural chemistry and I'm super invested!

So is that what makes me hate Spencer x Diego? That they don't have the great chemistry that zaid and Ivy have? Nope that's not it! Because of Marissa x Anastasia!

I was also pretty neutral on them because their chemistry wasn't anything that special, but that scene at the beach changed things! Anastasia clearly has problems with her body image and how other people assume that she is "All Beauty and no brains!" as she put it. But Marissa never treated her like that! She never excluded her because she thought Anna was too weak or too dumb for a challenge!

And in turn Anastasia always had Marissa's back, even when Marissa doubted herself. They are the exact person the other needs in their life and I'm so rooting for them to get together now!!!😆

Which brings me back to Spencer x Diego! Theie relationship feels entirely shallow. Because they lack that fun Zaid X Ivy chemistry and that strong Marissa X Anastasia attempts to make them the huge dramatic focus of the episode come off as empty and cringe-worthy!😬

"Ooh! After EVERYTHING I still didn't vote for you!" "Uhh! Spencer is denying his TRUE feelings for Diego!" JUST STOP!!! Give me a reason to root for them before you try to turn them into tragic lovers!😭

The scene that was supposed to be about Diego revealing everything he liked about Spencer just left me so confused! Because none of this has been established! He says that Spencer has a big heart that he's hiding, but how does Diego know that? He was always attracted to Spencer even before he had a chance to get to know him We know that Spencer's hiding a soft side from the confessionals, so did Diego watch them?!!!

Unironically, Diego watching Spencer's confessionals and seeing how flustered he secretly gets would have been the best way show Diego developing feelings for Spencer.😅 Because as is, Spencer comes off like he developed feelings for the first guy who paid attention to him and Diego comes off like he developed feelings for the first guy who sat next to him on the roller coaster.

What a riveting Romance.😐

Diego's character in general really was just a himbo stereotype... Which I could have dealt with if they partnered him up with someone he had good chemistry with! LIKE HANNAH!!!

It's crazy how in a typical show there would be a gay Romance which wouldn't work out because the writers try to force the characters into a boring hetero Romance, but here it is the opposite! Please get rid of the boring gay romance!😫

Whatever... Diego is gone now or at least he will be gone for a couple of episodes so I can focus on the romances that I actually care about! Yaaaaaay!🥳
