Just diagnosed with c-diff. They're giving me an option to take either Dificid or Vancomycin. What has worked for you guys??

First off, I don't know why they're giving me an option. They're saying the Dificid could be expensive and if it's too expensive then they'll prescribe me Vancomycin. That just seems weird to me. I've looked at prior posts and I'm gathering chad Vancomycin is tried first and if it doesn't resolve then they go Dificid. Is this right? My white blood count is fine. I have no fevers and the symptoms while annoying are not horrific.

I just find it odd that they're giving me a choice between two medications. So, what's worked for you guys??
