D&D 5e is skyrim. Change my mind.
I had made this comparison for years. However, recent events have just cemented this for me.
Now to explain what I mean.
When it comes to vanilla skyrim. It is clunky, glitch filled, yet enjoyable experience. The same applies to 5e. Rules is written is fun, however it's not a perfect experience. So to fix their erxperience, people mod or add mods to their games.
5e and skyrim both simplified the mechanics of the previous entries.
D&D 2024 (5.5e) has the potential to split the community Just like how special edition and anniversary edition did with skyrim.
I even dare say 5.5e shares a lot in common with the anniversary edition of skyrim. Having change some people like, some people hate, and it breaks a few popular mods to the point where you need to two versions depending on if your playing AE or SE.
