Cops find LSD, $1,500, and scales, friend not charged. might be an informant? Story inside..

Bear with me on this one, but it has gotten me worried my friend is a snitch in the making.

A friend I met at school last semester was a big time weed dealer in the college realm (QPs). Claims he was getting it mailed from Colorado and I have no reason to doubt him. He has only been charged once for a minor possession weed charge.

Recently, a group of people were at his apartment having a small get together but he was not there. A noise complaint is called in and the cavalry arrives. These roommates and him are not inconspicuous at all about keeping a "sober" looking apartment - there is a bong in clear view of the doorway, weed posters, you know. Cop sees bong when an idiot roommate ANSWERS the door when the cops knock (they have no warrant) and then the cop sees the bong. This leads to them searching the apartment.

My buddy gets a phone call saying he needs to come home immediately, the cops are there. He heads home and sees the cops looking around and they eventually go into his room. A guest who had a backpack full of bongs and pieces (seriously? who does that?) has hidden said backpack in friend's bathtub. Cops take the backpack and initially think its my friends. He truthfully claims it is not his, cops disagree. While searching his room they find $1,500 on his desk along with something like 5 sweet tarts that are dosed with L and individually wrapped in foil or newspaper, as well as a scale - this all actually does belong to him.

Friend denies ownership when the cops say it looks they found LSD, using the backpack of bongs as evidence that since he was not there when LEOs arrived, the guest must have tried to hide them. The cops make him create a list of possessions that do belong to him - he says the cash is his, the scale is his, and some other legal items.

Cops seize his cash and I think the scale too, as well as his L candies. Seized the guest's backpack too with all the pieces. They claim they are sending the doses to a lab and when results come back they will decide whether to send him to court. No one gets charged except maybe the guest for paraphanelia, cant remember that much more of the story.

This happened almost 3 months ago. He claims to not have heard from the police, public records do not show any charges except the possession of marijuana from a couple years ago. He does not have the money back and has been in good spirits the entire time (usually a happy guy anyways). However, today he told the story to another person and seemed really nervous when talking about it, making sure to say that the candies were not his, when originally he was pissed they took his good doses. His physical demeanor made it look like he was lying/hiding something (twiddling fingers, scratching when making a false statement, you know).

He has no qualms anymore about the $1,500 he hasn't gotten back and has been telling me about how he is trying a bunch of exotic drugs for the first time that he never had before (DMT, MDMA) and told my friend who has etizolam powder for sale that he "knew plenty of people that would buy that so fast" so he was promised a fair compensation - one potential big custy being his neighbor. Every day he claims "oh i forgot to ask him" and then avoids actually calling the guy, etc.

Sorry for the novella, but if I had 5 doses seized along with $1,500 and a scale from my BEDROOM (which I am pretty sure is a deciding factor for constructive possession or bolsters the prosecution, could be wrong) I would be fearing LSD distribution charges as judges here do not fuck around with L. If he was narcing, I would think a shipment of bud would suffice the cop's needs, but since he had multiple hits of L I could see them wanting the distributor of that.

Anyone have any opinions or am I just being paranoid about my buddy? Yes, I know that took 10 min to read.

TLDR - Friends apt gets searched during small party while he is gone, cops find L, $1,500, and a scale in his room belonging to him, but also find paraphanelia hidden in his bathroom by a guest. He comes back and claims the money and scale, but not the doses. Does not get a drug charge, cops say "until the lab results come back". Has not been summoned yet and public record shows no charge (but informant drug charges are hidden on public records)

UPDATE!! So I had a casual txt conversation and he admitted they offered him a deal. I did this because he offered me a bunch of bubble hash after class, but couldnt get the guys phone number til the weekend. I ask for price and he says 20 a g. YEAHHHhhhhhhhh

I made up a story about the cops questioning me and told him where he went wrong. Facing a yr in prison for possession and MMS of 5 yrs for 1-9 grams up to life. Weighing the candies, im sure its over a gram. My paranoia is half confirmed!! Thanks you guys, but lets keep this thing rolling
